I PREACHED IN THE BUS!
Last week after I heard the message on evangelism reemphasized and heard Brother Utibe refer to a bus preaching testimony, I was challenged. I prayed to God to help me as I desired earnestly to preach. On Sunday, 2nd September, 2018, while on my way to the Sunday church meeting, a man was discussing about the lack of love and cooperation between people in the state I reside ‘who call themselves brothers’. I knew it as an opportunity to begin a conversation and preach in that line but I couldn’t bring myself to opening my mouth! The man was practically preaching about this issue that was bothering him and he was speaking to the hearing of everyone. I reprimanded myself for not speaking God’s word from the circumstance.
So on Wednesday, 12th September, I got into a bus and the journey was to last between twenty to thirty minutes. I felt it would be unwise to be quiet throughout the journey. So, I prayed for God’s help and opened my mouth and yes, I was preaching!!! On Sunday, 9th September, 2018 too, I preached again in a bus. This time I used the tracts shared in church as an introduction then went on to give a little background so that they would understand the things that were written in the tract a bit better. Sister Queeneth who was in the bus with me helped me share out the tracts to the passengers as her own contribution. I’m grateful for the grace to preach in the buses and I trust that the Lord will help me do that more and more. Amen.
