Guided By Scripture

I was involved in an accident and I fell into coma. While I was in a coma, it looked as though I saw myself walking through a path and as I got to the end of the road, behind me was not safe, going back to where I had come from wasn’t safe either. I had to make a drastic decision to enter one of the streets branching off from the road.

I think people were chasing me from behind and I had finally come to a point where they couldn’t cross and come over, so they stood there staring. I came to a particular part of the road which was a tarred and so they stopped the chase because they were not allowed to enter that part of the road as I was.

It was as though I saw two roads; the first road I saw was rather untidy in a way, because it had leaves scattered on the floor and trees planted sparsely. The was also the sign of the cross on the road which looked old and wasn’t very nice looking. The second road also had the sign of the cross on it, but a smaller, finer version of the cross and the road was made of Gold and neatly tarred.
I looked at both paths and I was quite confused, not knowing which path held the real cross. Then you know that they say that the streets of heaven are made with gold, so it really looked like the second one was the right one. But then I remembered that the Bible says, ‘narrow is the way that leads to life’, and also that we should not live by sight but by faith. Then I also remembered that the other ugly road seemed very uncomfortable, and Pastor has always taught us that we shouldn’t follow after comfort, so I chose that first path. When I walked through the other path, it was quite nice, there were people on it, and it was quiet and peaceful.
When I got to the end of this road, there was another road too, another crossroads. The first road had this thick fire on it, and it was burning like a furnace. The second road was full of pictures, like in the Jehovah’s Witness illustrations where people are touching animals, playing with lions, and all those things, and the lions were looking and watching to see if I would go. It was a peaceful place, and people were laughing, playing and being happy, and it looked like paradise. But I remembered the scripture that says ‘When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flames scorch you’. So I walked through the fire. It seemed like as I walked through it, I was purified more and more.
When the animals saw me enter the fire, they started fighting themselves. They were angry and started accusing themselves. They started raging. They said this one was the cause; that they didn’t pretend well. So I realized that if I had taken that road, I would have been eaten up by the animals that were there.
Then the third road was a road where I saw water. When I got to the end, it was a river. Some people were swimming, while others were struggling to not be drowned. I had the impression I was supposed to jump into the water and cross over into the other side. I wondered how I would do this as I have never swum in my whole life, and I’m not used to water. Then I remembered again that the rivers will not overflow you, even when you pass through the waters. So I jumped into it. I didn’t find myself swimming, I just saw myself at the end of the road, at the river bank of the other side.
The next picture I saw was a picture of a man who came to fight me, and he was using a sword. His sword looked like my own kind of sword, except that his sword had no light. My sword was very bright and sharp; fine and glasslike. So it was like a battle of the swords. I didn’t know that we were supposed to fight at first, but it looked like when he tried to enter my side or my kingdom, he was not supposed to enter into the river. So we fought and he was very violent. He did not have any form of compassion or kindness. I was pushing back. Our swords were crossed, my sword and his sword. He was pushing to get closer to the river, and I was pushing for him to get out and never come close to the river.
Then I asked, ‘but how am I going to fight?’ While I was still pushing with the sword, I heard a voice say, ‘Be purposeful; be intentional, and actually fight’. That was how I was going to overcome. Then I came out of it.
