GOD’S LEADING IN MY LIFE (The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord…)- Psalm 37:23
I want to thank God for my life. Today is my birthday. I want to thank Him for how He brought me to God’s Lighthouse. I attended the July retreat last year. However, after the retreat, I left and did not come back for about three months. On the last day of our examination, Salvation and Michael, my course mates invited me for prayers in church (GLH). I did not want to go but my spirit wanted me to go. My friends and I had planned to hangout to play games after exams. So I used it as an excuse to tell them I would go for the prayer some other time.
I went to my friends’ place and went to play game. But then, I was not comfortable. My spirit kept pressing me to go to church. I was not comfortable so I had to tell my friends I was leaving. They were surprised and wondered why; I had not seen them for about two years, this was the more reason why I should have stayed behind. But then I left them and walked down to Plaza. Then I called Salvation, he was not picking up his calls, Edidiong was not picking up too.
I did not know my way around Uyo. So I told the Holy Spirit I could not get lost and end up somewhere I did not know. He told me I did not need people to direct me to church. Then He told me to follow one girl and go the direction she was going to. I was wondering how I could follow someone I don’t know by 7 pm. I don’t know how I started trusting the Holy Spirit that much. It is still a mystery till today. The girl entered a keke and I followed her in. When the keke man asked me where I was going to, I said the same thing the girl said.
The girl alighted from the keke at CCC junction, I did same. I didn’t even know where I was. Then the girl walked into Anwa Nsa Street. I followed her in. It was then I recalled that I had been there before. The area seemed familiar to me; I could remember the Redeemed Christian Church of God along the street. I was still walking down the street with the girl ahead of me. She got to the gate of God’s Lighthouse and stopped just in front of it to take a call. When she was done, she kept walking. That was when I knew I had gotten to the place.
When I went for a holiday after then, I made up my mind to read my Bible and pray. I was attending church meetings too. If I did not come to church, I don’t know where I would have been by now. I was a mess but God gave me a reason to live. I did not sow any dangerous seed or anything to be saved but He saved me freely and I am so glad.
