▪The Designer’s Bondage
While we prayed, I saw a group of women who had chains around their necks. The other end of the chain was attached to a large designer bag, and each woman dragged hers along.
The women had marks on their necks where the chains had chafed the skin. Some could not breathe well because of the chains, but they didn’t seem to mind the chains because of the beauty of the bags they were attached to.
▪In Chains: An Inability to Fly
There was a bright light in the sky, which many of the women were reaching out to touch. They leapt towards the sky with confidence as if they had the ability to fly up to the sky and touch the light. However, each attempt at flight was met with a forceful return to earth because of the chain on their necks and the attached designer bags. Their necks were raw, and some were bleeding. They did not seem to understand why they kept returning to the dust.
Some of the women were not interested in the light, and though the chains hampered their horizontal motion on the ground and chafed their necks, they were not as injured as those who wanted to fly with the weights still attached.
Freedom: Flight at Last
I saw a man walk in with a sword, and he began to cut through the chains with the sword. As the chains fell off their necks, the women who had been trying to fly were able to do so.
When those who had not been interested in reaching out to the light saw the others flying, they too leapt upwards and began to fly.
I understood the designer bag to be vanity/beauty, which brings anyone who pursues it into bondage – christian or not.
I understood the bright light to be the Lord. Anyone who pursued vanity would suffer some harm, but it would be worse for those who try to follow the Lord and bring vanity along.
Mindsets: Ungodly Mixtures
I heard “Mindsets.” It came to mind that there were mindsets that had become strongholds among ladies, including christian sisters.
One such mindset was highlighted, which is the mindset of ‘trying not to take it to the extreme’ in regards to godly dressing, while being willing to try out dressing patterns that are generally considered “not too bad.”
I heard, “Why do you feel ashamed when compared to Mary, Rachel, and Sarah? Yet you do not wish to be compared to Herodias, Jezebel, and Delilah. You must choose. You can not sustain a mixture.”
