SHUN BABYLON’S SONG!
It is a common saying — “There’s nothing new under the sun.”
Many people know that part. However, some people may not know that statement is in the Scriptures.
The full quote is:
‘What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun. Is there a thing of which it is said, “See, this is new”? It has been already in the ages before us.’ (Eccl 1:9-10)
One thing that ‘has been before’ is the judgement against Babylon. The spiritual Babylon will be destroyed just as the physical nation called Babylon was destroyed. As 1 Cor. 15:46 says, first comes the natural, then the spiritual.
‘After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory. And he called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast.’ (Rev 18:1-2)
What Does Babylon Represent?
Babylon, the spiritual, (whose kingdom is more vast than natural Babylon’s) will be judged. You can’t stop it. She will try to survive; she will have more daughters and spread her tentacles, but all to no avail.
Babylon is a land of idols and idolatry where people are forced to bow. It is also a place with all kinds of music. You often will bow to her idols after you’ve listened to her music.
Remember Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego? All kinds of musical instruments were played for them to bow. (Dan. 3:5)
This, in a major way, literally refers to the music you listen to. That is why when you want to teach people holiness, you tell them, “Cut away from this kind of music. Don’t listen to this or that.”
Some people will hear that and say, “You are being old-fashioned. After all, Jesus looks at the heart! The kind of music you listen to does not matter at all.”
People who say these kinds of things are often very ignorant. They do not know the deceptive schemes of Babylon. They have not paid attention to what has been, so they don’t understand what will be.
Anyone with ‘eyes to see’ knows that people all over the world, including God’s children, bow to music. Why? Because music goes into your soul with little or no resistance.
Babylon’s music goes beyond the music we can hear with our physical ears. They are the sounds that emanate from Babylon in front of its idols, an image of gold.
What is Idolatry About?
What is idolatry? From Scriptures, idolatry, which Babylon has as a major thing, is the love of money (greed) – Col. 3:5; Eph. 5:3. And the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil (1 Tim. 6:10). Once you have that idol in your face, you will get involved in all kinds of evil things.
When that idol goes up, people bow. But when you bend before it, the rest is history. You fall into the nothingness that awaits all who bow; nobody knows your name, and you fade into the mix of Babylon.
Unfortunately, most of God’s people, His Israel and His Judah, are in Babylon. Babylon is wonderful; she is enchanting. You can’t but give it to Babylon. Is it their construction? Is it their standards of perfection? They are just very seductive, very alluring. The apostle John saw her. He said he was astonished. She is a massive distraction. She is very influential. Anyone that says, “Nah, they don’t have power,” is likely in her pocket. Her influence is everywhere with fashion, luxury, and everything you could ever desire.
John, the apostle, in Revelations 17:6 says, “I was utterly amazed at the sight of her.” But before he said that, in the same verse, he said, “I could see that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints and witnesses for Jesus.” Yes, she drinks blood.
What will Happen If I Shun Babylon’s Music?
If you refuse to bow to Babylon’s music, they will come after you – with words, actions, oppressive laws, and more.
You will have to make a choice.
Ask yourself, “Am I willing to lose my life that I may find it?”
“Or will I try to preserve my life and fulfil what Jesus said: ‘…he who preserves his life will lose it…’?”
Babylon is a place where people get thrown into lions’ dens and fiery furnaces. It’s a system; the mother of Harlots, overseen by a powerful spirit entity.
When you refuse to bow to Babylon’s music, the devil will come after you just as Nebuchadnezzar did the Hebrew men. But if you stand your ground, relying on the word of God, that a man’s life does not consist of the things he has, and other similar scriptures, rather than burn you, the fire will set you free. Free from the bonds that hold the people of God in captivity; free from the sins that have restricted your access into the things God has for you, and so on.
For Shadrach and his friends, the fire took them into the glorious liberty of the sons of God; there was one like unto the son of God in the fire with them (Dan. 3:25). God does not change his methods; He is able to save, but even if He doesn’t, you should rest assured that you will come out of the fire as gold.
