[…Go out into the world and preach the gospel to every creature.] Mark 16: 15 THANKSGIVING FOR GRACE TO PREACH THE GOSPEL
During the week on my way back, I joined a bus going to my place of residence. I spoke to the driver during the journey and asked if he went to church. He replied that he couldn’t go due to some problems recently. I was also able to speak to the person beside me and even the others in the bus.
BOLDNESS TO SPEAK TO YOUNG PEOPLE
I’m usually scared to approach young people like me so when I thought about my bus experience and all that had happened, l developed a strong desire to speak to the youths around. I prayed to God to give me the grace to talk to them. Later that night I went to the campus to read. The classroom was filled with young students and people preparing to write the JAMB examination. A man came to fumigate the room (spray insecticides) and requested we all left the class. I heard in my heart that this was my chance. We all moved out and I called out to them to assemble and guess what? I opened my mouth and began to talk to them about things affecting youths and scriptures! They were amazed but I was more surprised at myself.
MORE OPPORTUNITIES
After I spoke, one of the young men there called me aside and I saw one of the tracts we had shared when we went there on Saturday for a corporate evangelism in the hostel, he said one of us had given it to him. Later on many more people came to talk to me and I began to feel like a young pastor; words which I didn’t think I could utter kept coming out from my mouth. I invited them to attend the believers classes organized in that campus. I want to appreciate God for giving me the boldness to talk to young people.
